68146140AC PM Sensor
The WJIECO 68146140AC PM sensor is a direct-fit diesel particulate matter (PM) sensor covering three popular Stellantis diesel applications from the mid-2010s: the Jeep Grand Cherokee 3.0L V6 EcoDiesel (2014-2019), the Ram 1500 3.0L V6 EcoDiesel (2014-2017), and the Ram ProMaster 1500, 2500, and 3500 vans with the 3.0L I4 EcoDiesel (2014-2017). Even though some listings group it visually with NOx sensors, this unit is a DPF soot sensor that reports particulate loading to the ECM. Mounted in the exhaust stream, it keeps the regeneration strategy honest, and replacing it early is far cheaper than a clogged filter.
## Fitment and Compatibility
### Compatible Vehicles
– Jeep Grand Cherokee – 3.0L V6 EcoDiesel, 2014-2019
– Ram 1500 – 3.0L V6 EcoDiesel, 2014-2017
– Ram ProMaster 1500 / 2500 / 3500 cargo van – 3.0L I4 EcoDiesel, 2014-2017
This 68146140AC PM sensor is a versatile part across the Grand Cherokee, Ram 1500, and ProMaster van families. It bolts into the original mounting port and mates with the factory electrical connector, so no wiring work or reprogramming is required. It is built for the diesel versions only; gas Grand Cherokee, HEMI Ram, and gasoline ProMaster models do not use this sensor.
### Interchangeable Part Numbers
The WJIECO 68146140AC PM sensor cross-references the full Mopar revision family 68249512AA, 68249512AB, 68249512AC, and 68249512AD, plus Bosch 0281006338. These numbers identify the same DPF soot sensor across production runs. Always read the OE number stamped on your original sensor and match it to one of the numbers above before you check out.
## How the Diesel PM Sensor Works
### What It Measures
The PM sensor uses a heated sensing element exposed to exhaust flow to estimate soot mass trapped in the DPF. As the filter loads up, the sensor signal climbs. When the soot level reaches the ECM threshold, the controller commands a high-temperature regeneration that burns the accumulated soot off and returns the filter to a clean state.
### Why Accurate Readings Matter
A drifting 68146140AC PM sensor feeds the ECM unreliable soot data. The vehicle may regenerate too often, wasting fuel and stressing the DPF, or it may delay regeneration until the filter plugs and power drops. A fresh sensor restores normal regen timing, fuel economy, and driveability on both the V6 and the I4 EcoDiesel. Owners who put off the swap often end up with a forced regen at the dealer or a tow to the shop.
## Signs Your PM Sensor Needs Replacement
Watch for these symptoms on a Grand Cherokee, Ram 1500, or ProMaster with the EcoDiesel:
– DPF or exhaust filter warning messages, reduced power, or limp mode
– Check engine light with soot or DPF efficiency codes (for example P2453, P2454)
– Regen cycles that run back to back or never finish
– Worse fuel economy on highway trips or delivery routes
If your vehicle is storing a diagnostic trouble code, look up the exact definition and likely causes on the free code library at [OBD-Codes.com](https://www.obd-codes.com) before buying parts.
## Installation Overview
1. Park on level ground, let the exhaust cool fully, and locate the PM sensor on the DPF assembly.
2. Disconnect the electrical connector and remove the old sensor with the correct socket.
3. Install the new WJIECO 68146140AC PM sensor into the same port and seat it back to the original position.
4. Reconnect the connector, start the engine, and clear stored codes with a scan tool.
The job usually takes 20-30 minutes with basic hand tools, and no sensor calibration is needed after the install.
## Why Choose WJIECO
– One direct-fit sensor covering Grand Cherokee, Ram 1500, and ProMaster EcoDiesels
– Sealed, heat-resistant housing tested for high exhaust temperatures
– Factory-matched connector and thread for a clean bolt-in install

WJIECO Diesel sensor –
My 2014 Grand Cherokee Ecodiesel showed a DPF message on the dash. I ordered the 68146140AC PM sensor, swapped it in the driveway in about 25 minutes with a socket and a rag, and cleared the code with my reader. Two months later the Jeep is still running clean and the light has not come back. Looks just like the factory part.
